Important information about vintage watches
-
Condition
The pictures are made to show the condition as transparently as possible. The light is set to show the defaults. Once on the wrist, the condition tends to be better than on the pictures (based on feedbacks from customers).
Feel free to ask for extra pictures.

Water resistance
The general rule with vintage watches is that they are never water resistant, even if they were originally. I do not test the water resistance of the watches for sale.
All watches are therefore sold as non water resistant.
Please always be carefull with water around old watches. Do not soak them in water.
-
Accuracy
The accuracy of mechanical and electric watches is always tested before sale. I consider a watch as keeping time if it shows less than a minute of error per day for a mechanical movement and if no time difference is visible after a few days for a quartz watch.
Please remember that time accuracy of mechanical movement depends on several factor including temperature, position and movements.
-
Polishing
I typically never polish a watch case. I leave the choice to do so to the customer.
If necessary, I do polish acrylic crystals.
-
Everyday use
Please consider the age, condition and characteristics of the watch before deciding how and when to use it. If some vintage watches can be used daily, others need more care. Usually, the older the more care it will deserve.

New Old Stock
New Old Stock, or NOS, are watches that have not been sold to the end customer. These watches are typically in very good condition, but they can still have some defects due to storage condition and handling through the decandes.
Mechanical movements of NOS watches can be running well as they are, but keep in mind that the oils are old and they can deserve a clean and oiling.
