Important information about vintage watches
-
Condition
The pictures are taken to display the condition of the watch as transparently as possible, with lighting adjusted to highlight any flaws. Based on customer feedback, watches often appear better in person when worn on the wrist compared to the photos. Feel free to request additional pictures if needed.
-
Water resistance
The general rule with vintage watches is that they are no longer water-resistant, even if they were originally designed to be. I do not test the water resistance of the watches for sale, so all watches are sold as non-water-resistant. Please exercise caution around water when handling vintage watches and avoid submerging them.
-
Accuracy
The accuracy of mechanical and electric watches is tested before sale. A mechanical watch is considered to be keeping time if it shows less than a minute of error per day (typically less than 20 seconds). For quartz watches, no noticeable time difference after a few days is the standard. Please note that the accuracy of a mechanical movement depends on several factors, including temperature, position, and the wearer’s movements.
-
Polishing
I personally never polish watch cases, leaving that choice to the customer. However, I do polish acrylic crystals if needed. Keep in mind that watches may have been polished in the past. Always refer to the pictures for the condition of the case, and feel free to request additional photos if necessary.

Everyday use
Please take into account the age, condition, and characteristics of the watch before deciding how and when to use it. While some vintage watches are suitable for daily wear, others require more careful handling. Generally, the older the watch, the more care it will need.

New Old Stock
New Old Stock (NOS) refers to vintage watches that have never been worn. These watches are typically in excellent condition, though they may exhibit minor defects due to storage conditions and handling over the decades. While the mechanical movements of NOS watches may still function well, it’s important to note that the oils are aged and the movement may benefit from cleaning and re-oiling.
