A very rare Alpina Standard Leihuhr from the 1960s
The Leihuhr, service watch, was a special model made for a watchmaker to be lent to the customer waiting for their watch to be serviced. These watches were not made to be sold to the clients, were made in very small numbers and are very hard to find today, let alone in good condition.
The watch sold here has a special engraved caseback indicating that the watch was the number 3 of the watchmaker R. Lappert in Zurich, Switzerland.
A very interesting article on this model is available on the website Fratellowatches
The watch was worn but stays in very good overall condition.
Stainless steel case
White dial
Silver hands and indexes
Screwed case back with engraving
New Van Cleef and Arpels leather strap
The case measures 34mm without crown, 40mm lug to lug, 10mm thick with a 18mm lug width.
It is powered by a manual wind caliber Alpina 592R. It runs and keeps time. The service history is unknown.
