Favre-Leuba Quartz 32768Hz - Girard-Perregaux 353 - 1970s
Favre-Leuba Quartz 32768Hz - Girard-Perregaux 353 - 1970s
A very unique and rare NOS Favre-Leuba Quartz 32768 from the early 1970s
This watch is especially interesting for using the caliber 353 developped by Girard-Perregaux and known as the first “modern” Swiss quartz. This caliber was used by Jaeger-Lecoultre, Girard Perregaux, and more rarely Favre-Leuba.
The watch was sourced from a lot of new old stock pieces from a collector’s estate in Switzerland.
Excellent condition, never worn, but can still have some minor defects due to storage and handling through the years, especially on the polished sides.
Big gold plated case with a brushed finish on the front and polished sides.
Gold smoked brushed dial
Applied gold indexes
Black and gold hands
Signed crown
Screwed back with the original protective layer
Vintage unsigned blue strap with signed gold buckle
The original caseback gasket has been removed (it had “melted” as often with original 1970s gaskets)
The case measures 36mm without crown, 42mm lug to lug, 14mm thick with a 20mm lug width.
It is powered by a quartz caliber Girard-Perregaux 353. It runs and keeps time. It has never been serviced.
