A very nice and rare Rolex Solar Aqua Anti-Magnetic from 1942, in the heat of World War 2. The name Solar Aqua was used on the watches sold by the Canadian store Eatons.
This reference 2784 uses the famous Oyster case and is equipped with a manual wind movement.
The original dial takes the typical WWII military layout with big lumed numbers, pencil hands and 24 hours red numbers. The dial is unrestored and has patina. The hands have probably been relumed at some point in the past.
Full stainless steel Oyster case with screwed signed crown and screwed back with Rolex signature.
The crystal has some small defects.
It comes on a vintage Gay Frères “bamboo” type bracelet, period and style correct for this watch. Gay Frères is the historical manufacturers of metal bracelets for Rolex.
The case measures 30mm without crown, 38mm lug to lug, 12mm thick with a 16mm lug width.
It is powered by a Swiss made manual wind movement. It has been serviced in April 2025 and is fully working but please consider the age of the movement and the parts and don’t expect chronometer grade time keeping.
The movement is signed Rolex on the dial side.
